The Detroit rapper re-emerged on the hip hop scene with his highly anticipated album Relapse earlier this year and garnered critical acclaim. Relapsequickly became one of the highest selling albums of 2009. Now, according to the Nielson Soundscan, Eminem is officially the highest selling artist of the decade. |

Since the year 2000, the sum total of Em's album sales amounts to roughly 32 million records. Whats even more surprising is that Eminem outsold The Beatles who, before Em, was the highest seller of the decade with their album 1. Eminem is showing now signs of stopping anytime soon. He is re-releasing Relapse in a couple of weeks with additional tracks that were not on the previous release. After that, Eminem is planning on releasing Relapse 2sometime in 2010. It appears as if Slim shady is very intent on making up for his five year absence. Congratulations to Eminem and to Hip Hop for being the best selling genre of the 2000's! |
